How do I install Pear Desktop on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Pear Desktop from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S pear-desktop

pear-desktop is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Pear Desktop?

  1. Open Pear Desktop from your app menu.
  2. Or run pear-desktop in a terminal.
  3. Run pacman -Qi pear-desktop to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Pear Desktop?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns pear-desktop

    Yes. The pear-desktop package is in the cachyos repo, version 3.12.0-1, built 2026-07-02. Install it with sudo pacman -S pear-desktop.
