How do I install zuluCrypt on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open zuluCrypt from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S zulucrypt

zulucrypt is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing zuluCrypt?

  1. Open zuluCrypt from your app menu.
  2. It installs these commands: zuluCrypt-cli, zuluCrypt-gui, zuluMount-cli, zuluMount-gui, zuluPolkit and zuluSafe-cli.
  3. Run pacman -Qi zulucrypt to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove zuluCrypt?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns zulucrypt

What is zuluCrypt?

zuluCrypt is a front end to cryptsetup and tcplay and it allows easy management of encrypted block devices.

    Is zuluCrypt in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The zulucrypt package is in the cachyos repo, version 7.1.1-1, built 2026-05-22. Install it with sudo pacman -S zulucrypt.

    Do I need an AUR helper for zuluCrypt?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    What is the zuluCrypt command?

    The package installs zuluCrypt-cli, zuluCrypt-gui, zuluMount-cli, zuluMount-gui, zuluPolkit and zuluSafe-cli.
