How do I install Wine CachyOS on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Wine CachyOS from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S wine-cachyos

wine-cachyos is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

All of these are in the official cachyos repo. Pick one; builds of the same app usually conflict with each other.

What should I do after installing Wine CachyOS?

  1. Open Wine CachyOS from your app menu.
  2. It installs these commands: function_grep.pl, msidb, msiexec, notepad, regedit and regsvr32 and more.
  3. Run pacman -Qi wine-cachyos to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Wine CachyOS?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns wine-cachyos
