How do I install Unciv on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Unciv from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S unciv-bin

unciv-bin is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Unciv?

  1. Open Unciv from your app menu.
  2. Or run Unciv in a terminal.
  3. Run pacman -Qi unciv-bin to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Unciv?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns unciv-bin

    Is Unciv in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The unciv-bin package is in the cachyos repo, version 4.22.16-1, built 2026-11-01. Install it with sudo pacman -S unciv-bin.

    Do I need an AUR helper for Unciv?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    What is the Unciv command?
