How do I install Theia IDE on CachyOS?
Run this in a terminal, then open Theia IDE from your app menu:
sudo pacman -S theia-bintheia-bin is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.
What should I do after installing Theia IDE?
- Open Theia IDE from your app menu.
- Run pacman -Qi theia-bin to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.
How do I update or remove Theia IDE?
Update:
sudo pacman -SyuRemove:

Is Theia IDE in the official CachyOS repo?
Yes. The theia-bin package is in the cachyos repo, version 1.76.0-1, built 2026-10-10. Install it with sudo pacman -S theia-bin.
Do I need an AUR helper for Theia IDE?
No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.
