How do I install Proton CachyOS on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal:

sudo pacman -S proton-cachyos-native

proton-cachyos-native is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Proton CachyOS?

  1. Run pacman -Ql proton-cachyos-native to see every file it installed.
  2. Run pacman -Qi proton-cachyos-native to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Proton CachyOS?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns proton-cachyos-native

    Is Proton CachyOS in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The proton-cachyos-native package is in the cachyos repo, version 1:11.0.20261015-1, built 2026-10-21. Install it with sudo pacman -S proton-cachyos-native.

    Do I need an AUR helper for Proton CachyOS?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    Which Proton CachyOS package should I pick?

    proton-cachyos-native is listed first here. The cachyos repo also has proton-cachyos-slr. Install only one of them.
