VKShade is a written from scratch and more recently maintained alternative to vkbasalt's reshade support VKShade seems to work better than vkbasalt from my experience and it looks more likely to get newer feature updates. VKshade should be a tab alongside vkbasalt and vkSumi as I…

Maybe it is possible already, but I didn't find an option to choose a custom installation directory for OptiScaler. It is always put in /fgmod. I think an option to choose an alternative directory instead would be great. I for example would like to change it to /.fgmod, as to not…

As I understand it (if I even understand correctly), the "Global Config" is just the config that is active when not starting bgmod from a game-specific directory. But why do game-specific configs have ON/OFF toggles for each of the components, but the global config does not? Does…

Goverlay can apply configurations to every games by default. So for desktop mode a gamescope configurator would be nice so it apply settings globally. Or at least a way to add your own command lines globally. Currently in desktop mode gamescope it hard and tedious to configure by…

Make a list of optional dependencies to choose from on the first time of launching the application and/or on the settings menu. (Stuff like MAKO, LSFG and OptiScaler) This would fix the issue of the app feeling bloated as it does for me right now. Goverlay currently always…

Im on Fedora 41 with Gnome and Wayland and goverlay pretty much always looked like this: even though I have dark mode set in gnome the app is still in light mode and also the top header text is not readable. with --style windows it is a little better

This is one thing I noticed when testing the fonts feature. I think this also applies to the network interface as well. It doesn't feel like the application should work this way. There might be an easy way to workaround this by having the default dropdown item not change the…

I don't even know where to start with the explanation. Here is how I enabled it for the game profile. I use the bgmod launch command as needed in Steam and nothing happens in game. I should clarify that reshade works if I install it manually. Enable Reshade in a game profile…

In the "Upscalers" tab, under "Frame Interpolation" near the bottom, there is a "Software Status" section. I own LSFG-VK on Steam and I do have it installed and MAKO comes bundled with GOverlay when you download it. However, in "Software Status," the status for MAKO keeps…

For native Linux games that Steam launches through a .sh script, bgmod writes an lsfg-vk profile whose activein list does not contain the real game process. lsfg-vk loads but never activates, so Lossless Scaling frame generation does nothing. Example: Transport Fever 3 (native…

I’m trying to figure out whether vkBasalt and vkSumi are bundled with GOverlay or need to be installed separately. I use CachyOS and I try to avoid installing packages from AUR for my safety. When I first downloaded GOverlay yesterday, neither was detected, so I couldn’t enable…

On Oct 19 at about 18:15 I opened goverlay only to check that it had updated to 1.9.4. In the same two minutes these files appeared under /.local: lsfg-vk 2.0.0 (lsfg-vk-cli, lsfg-vk-ui, layer libraries, manifests) and a new /.config/lsfg-vk/conf.toml MAKO (layers, mako-cli,…
