How do I install Contour on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Contour from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S contour-git

contour-git is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Contour?

  1. Open Contour from your app menu.
  2. Or run contour in a terminal.
  3. Run pacman -Qi contour-git to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Contour?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns contour-git

    Is Contour in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The contour-git package is in the cachyos repo, version 0.7.1.r6660.6438f557-1, built 2026-10-19. Install it with sudo pacman -S contour-git.

    Do I need an AUR helper for Contour?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    What is the Contour command?
