The latest release v0.26 seems to be incompatible/not properly built for arm64 machines (tested on a Raspberry Pi 4). The manifest states support form arm64 platforms though:

I would love to see support for DNS64 added to blocky. This feature, described in RFC 6147, would have blocky synthesize AAAA records for hosts where only A records are found, and thus allow IPv6-only hosts to resolve addresses for IPv4-only hosts and send traffic to them through…

When a query with the DNSSEC flag is sent, Blocky will reply without the RRSIG record if the same query without the DNSSEC flag has been made and cached. The same also applies the other way around. A client that doesn't request DNSSEC information can prevent other clients that do…

I've recently spun up blocky, mostly for local DNS resolution rather than the blocking functionality (though i'll be adding that in the future). One thing that is confusing me, and this may be misconfiguration on my part, is that subdomains are resolving when I wouldn't expect…

As far as I can tell, Blocky doesn't cache the blocklists that it downloads. So every time I restart Blocky, it re-downloads the blocklist sources. It would be great if Blocky could cache these.

When editing YAML documents, it is often helpful to have application specific linting and validation, such as the case with Frigate ( I have cut a first draft of a schema for Blocky's configuration (by no means final, and not heavily tested) and am gauging whether there would be…

The blocky API currently doesn't expose runtime statistics. To build dashboards on blocky-ui, I'm currently parsing the Prometheus /metrics endpoint directly, which requires implementing a custom parser for the Prometheus text format. It would be helpful to have this data…

Hello, I'm absolutely stunned by Blocky and replaced all my other DNS solutions with it. In my setup I use blockingType "zeroIP" and would like to return NXDOMAIN for specific entries without changing everything to NXDOMAIN. For example Apple Private relay can only be blocked in…

Currently blocklist and whitelist error out if || is found. Which is a common syntax in blocklists meaning "process as normal host-file entry" From a technical perspective, all || should just be imported without the ||, instead of erroring or warning. An example of this is: Which…

System: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS The log shows: --- I run blocky on Pi4 as a service /opt/blocky/blocky --config /opt/blocky/config.yml, version 0.25 started to show the error above. The 0.24 doesn't have that issue.

I prefer using names in the user: field of my Compose files. Of the 40 containers I run, Blocky is the only one that doesn't support this. For example: I'd like to do the same with Blocky: With v0.35.0, Docker returns: Using user: "100:100" works. Looking at the Dockerfile, the…

Hi there, It would be great to have the ability to forward TLD to a specific resolver, not only specific domains, as the current mapping config allows. For example, dnsmasq allows one to do this: to have all .xyz resolve via Cloudflare. I'm currently using a combination of…

Affected versions: confirmed on commit ef95d592b323a06ad95ce10daeb53b534a8a8e79. Note: this behavior was previously reported in #688 (2022) as a support question ("how do I disable /debug/?") and stale-closed with no fix. Filing this as a proper security report since that earlier…
