Install wlogout with pacman

  1. Install wlogout from the official cachyos repo. pacman checks the package signature before it installs.
    sudo pacman -S wlogout

First run

  1. Run wlogout to open the logout menu, and press Escape to close it.
    wlogout

Key settings

  1. Copy the default layout and style to your config folder and edit them there.
    mkdir -p ~/.config/wlogout && cp /etc/wlogout/layout /etc/wlogout/style.css ~/.config/wlogout/
  2. Each button in the layout file has a label, an action (the command to run), the text shown and a keybind character. The man page documents the format.
    man 5 wlogout
  3. Style buttons in style.css with the label from the layout file. Any GTK CSS property works.

Common fixes

Changes to the layout do nothing

Edit the copies in ~/.config/wlogout/ rather than the files in /etc/wlogout/, as the README recommends.

Uninstall wlogout

  1. Remove wlogout and the dependencies nothing else needs.
    sudo pacman -Rns wlogout
