How do I install Chatbox on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Chatbox from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S chatbox

chatbox is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Chatbox?

  1. Open Chatbox from your app menu.
  2. Or run chatbox in a terminal.
  3. Run pacman -Qi chatbox to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Chatbox?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns chatbox

    Chatbox on CachyOS: questions

    Is Chatbox in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The chatbox package is in the cachyos repo, version 0.10.4-1, built 2025-01-29. Install it with sudo pacman -S chatbox.

    Do I need an AUR helper for Chatbox?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    What is the Chatbox command?

    chatbox. The package is called chatbox.
