How do I install cachy-update on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open cachy-update from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S cachy-update

cachy-update is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing cachy-update?

  1. Open cachy-update from your app menu.
  2. It installs these commands: arch-update and cachy-update.
  3. The package ships the systemd units arch-update.service and arch-update.timer. Read the project docs before you enable them.
  4. Run pacman -Qi cachy-update to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.
