How do I install Brave on CachyOS?

Run this in a terminal, then open Brave from your app menu:

sudo pacman -S brave-bin

brave-bin is in the cachyos repo, the CachyOS project's own package repository, so pacman installs it directly with no AUR helper and no build script. The package is signed with the CachyOS repository key, and pacman checks the signature before it installs.

What should I do after installing Brave?

  1. Open Brave from your app menu.
  2. Or run brave in a terminal.
  3. Run pacman -Qi brave-bin to see the installed version and the optional dependencies.

How do I update or remove Brave?

Update:

sudo pacman -Syu

Remove:

sudo pacman -Rns brave-bin

    Brave on CachyOS: questions

    Is Brave in the official CachyOS repo?

    Yes. The brave-bin package is in the cachyos repo, version 1:1.98.63-1, built 2026-11-01. Install it with sudo pacman -S brave-bin.

    Do I need an AUR helper for Brave?

    No. It comes from the cachyos repo, so plain pacman installs and updates it, and sudo pacman -Syu keeps it current.

    What is the Brave command?

    brave. The package is called brave-bin.
